However, incoporating marble countertops into your kitchen will require more maintenance, as it is more porous and succeptible to stains and/or scratches. 2. Granite
Granite is a timeless material that few others can match, making it a great option for your kitchen remodel. While not ideal to work on because it will dull knife blades, it will take normal wear and tear very well. Granite is a very hard substance and is not susceptible to scratches, but can be a little susceptible to stains - such as juice, wine, etc.
3. Porcelain
Surprisingly, porcelain is becoming a popular trend for kitchen countertops. They are durable and fairly low maintenance. With that being said, they do have a superficial beauty to them, as the designs are often printed onto them rather than ingrained in the material. While this may not be a make-or-break characteristic, it is worth noting.
4. Quartz
A super popular choice in kitchen countertops, quartz countertops offer many advantages. It does not need to be sealed, it's very easy to clean, and very durable and reliable. However, it is vulnerable to any direct heat and the price does run a bit higher for quartz countertops, which can be a deterrent for some.
